                    On 23 January 2023, we met Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, who will be elected President of Azad Kashmir in 2021.
During the meeting, we talked a lot about culture, which can open the door to communication and peace by promoting dialogue.  The President was particularly interested in the Soul of Europe's environmental approach, and its aim of promoting and sharing solutions to reduce the environmental footprint and preserve biodiversity.
Kashmir is shared by India, Pakistan and China, making the region highly unstable and conflict-ridden due to the territorial claims of the first two countries. Azad Kashmir lies within the area administered by Pakistan.
